Back on Patrol

Yesterday was a good day for Cedarville as the president rolled by in his ginormous mortorcade at about 3:00. They let out many of the classes here and many citizens even got out of work for a good 45 minuets. We all started gathering around 2:30 to see this great man, hoping he would stop and speak to our little town. He was really supposed to stop!

In great disappointment I watched the cop cars and charter busses roll by, barely slowing down. He just blew us of although waving from his bus. So after waiting for half and hour to see this event they just went flying by. Kerry would have stopped! Anyway, you can see the pictures here, all 5,000 people who actually believed he might stop here. It was quite a let down...I might just vote for Kerry now. I mean come on, the guy has THREE Purple Hearts!

As you can see I screwed up my Blog template (deleted the template) so now i must start over. I haven't been able to fix it yet because I have been helping my buddy Jesse get elected. I'll get around to it by tomorrow night but don't expect anything before then. Peace!

UPDATE: Got the top banner back in place...making progress! (3:30 PM)

Risky Business

Many of you have read my blog day after day, reading about my life and thoughts. At the end of the post, I am sure many of you are left wondering, "What can I do now?" Well I have compiled a list of things to do that may satisfy your every whim.

Crunch the Numbers:
For those of you out there who may enjoy statistics as I do there are a few good sites out there for you. Particularly, movie stats fascinate me so I reccomend Rotten Tomatoes for critic stats or The Numbers for box office stats. I particularly enjoy the Box Office Records. If you want some opinion stats I have found Vote.com will more than suffice.

Good News:
Check out Yahoo Most Popular for some good interesting stories or just Fox News for general news, although I think their site is terribly cluttered!

Free Downloads:
Check Download.com for lots of free cool stuff or if you're into file sharing Kazaa Lite (don't get regular Kazaa, it has spyware). Other cool free stuff include the Google toolbar or even iTunes for the best music jukebox in the world.

What if I wanna have fun?
I have your solution. MoFunZone has some great games including my favorite, Robo Bombo. If that's no good try Frends at MiniClip.com. Maybe text based games are for you, try Earth 2025 or some good pool at Candystand.

Kicks and Giggles:
Of course fo a good laugh on the internet the main source is this Blog but after that you may want to check out HSR. Also This Is Broken can be quite entertaining.

For the Looks:
Some pretty websites are out there as well. You can either check out any of the photo sites on the sidebar including mine or I also highly reccomend Pixel Girl. you may also have fun looking at random blogs.

Shop Till...your fingers hurt or something catchy:
Of course you know eBay but you might also check Overstock.com or Price Watch if you are looking for tech but my favorite if you are looking for low is Yahoo Shopping.

Is that it?
If none of those acquire your fancy I always enjoy to Google people. It is really hard to find people who haven't: been to public school, been arrested, or died. But if that's too close to stalking for you, maybe you would enjoy reading my Incubus Paper instead.

Massive Cold

That's right, some kind of massive cold has come over me. I went to my morning Chemistry lab but then went to sleep and missed speech class and Chapel. Shame on me! I took two Tylenol Cold pills and I now have an insatiable desire for water, can't get enought of that stuff!

Anyway, what I really wanted to talk about is an interesting topic that came up in Bible class. It was discussed, How can: there be evil in the world, God be good, and God is powerful all be true at the same time. We have been discussing world views of different people and this was one of many things that puzzles non-christians and can even change the views of some Christians. So how can God still be good and powerful when there is evil in the world?

The answer is incomprehensible to man. The man we were reading about who brought up this topic eventually decided that God is good but he is not powerful because he is trying to explain it all logically. I have simply determined that we just cannot explain God or his reasoning. He is perfect beyond our understanding and his plan always works for the good of those who love him. Simple as that. It's a very interesting topic and obviously goes much deeper but these are just my thoughts.

Xanga + x = CRAP

The simple equation above basically shows us that no matter what is done with (or added to) a Xanga it will still suck! If you still don't understand my despise of these site check out these ( 1 2 ) I am not reccomending that you read these in any way, simply asking you to realize that you couldn't really read it if you wanted to! It's not like these are the only 2 xangas that are like this, about 50% are like this.

Not only to Xanga users try their best to strain my eyes but they also subject you to annoying, low quality music. If I wanted to listen to music, I WILL TURN ON ITUNES! I will not go to your crappy site! Not to mention they look cluttered and are harder to actually get an original template.

I just wanted to vent my frustration! I guess I just see it as a good thing that people who have xanga's and blogs can't figure out how to change thier blog background. IT'S BECAUSE YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD BE A SINGLE NEUTRAL COLOR! Not a picture that matches your color of text! Anyway, this is why I love my blog and other blog users!

ALSO- Check out Val's new blog! I helped her put it together a little and I think it is a delight!

Longest Day of My Life!

Today was so busy, I am about to pass out! You have no idea all the crap I had to do today and how crappy it was. Lemme break it down...

First, I wake up and go to chapel...which was student chapel so not as boring as usual. I had to leave early from that so i could actually get a bite to eat today. I had a can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli! It was soo good but half way through eating it, I realizd that i am abouts to be late to my class. So I scarf the rest of it down and run off to the class. Turned in my paper that I worked on late last night while helping Emily with her HTML skills and she with my paper writing skills (thanks for the help again!)

After turning in the paper and nearly passing out in my next two classes, I decide to skip my last one so I can actually make it to my job interview on time. Job interview, this guy was incredibly boring! He stared off into space rambling about how he started there as a student and is now going to have another major...blah blah blah! But I think I did good and probably got the job. Then off to football practice (that's right, nathan's playin football!). Had fun there and finally made it to the last event of the day. Going to the Fairfield mall with our "sister dorm". It wasn't bad except these guys who were with us went shopping too long and we had to wait for them (nancy boys!). Finally we went to Youngs and played Catch Phrase. Which brings me to where I am now...in my dorm alone. Roomate gone to somewhere and now i am here alone...very very alone. Goodnight!

Happy Birthday Nathan!

I had a really nice weekend going home for my birthday. I got to spend a lot of time with people from the youth group and church. Although I got really sore from being so active this week, playing raquet ball, football, volleyball, basketball, lifting, and doing squats I really enjoyed it!

I am planning on going to watch the Monday Night Football game here in a few hours so I have to get all my homework done. I did really well on my fantasy football pics this week cause I am just that awesome!

In closing, I wish there were more people in this world that understood that there is no problem with drinking chocolate milk with pizza. I see no error in my ways! Some people are just too picky. At least they had chocolate puddin' though, that really brought the whole meal together. I encourage everyone to fight the freshmen 15 by eating healthy and excersizing! Good day.

I think this is one of the funniest and most honest ads i've seens in a while! CLICK HERE!

MS turns me into a pirate!

Okay, so here I am just minding my own business when all of the sudden "The Man" (Microsoft) tells me that I need MS Office XP service pack 3. Sounds like a good idea, update my software and such. So I go to their update website and it's all going good untill the updates start to install.

The intall program stops and asks me for the disk the the "proret.msi" install file. Great, I can't just update my software but I have to have the disk on hand at all times (keep in mind that the version I HAD was leagal). So I figure I might get lucky and find someone in a nearbye dorm with a disk handy. I found one...a pirated one (thanks Joe!) and slide it into my laptop. What, you're gonna tell me that this is the wrong MSI file??? Now, I know that the disk I have includes MS FrontPage but honestly, MS could make them compatable if they wanted to make my life not difficult.

So what now is the solution since my MS Office programs no longer work? Only one...install the pirated version so I can use that MSI file! So thanks to MS (and Joe) it is becoming more and more necessary to pirate, steal from, and lie to "The Man" more and more! Therefore, I salute you Microsoft! If it weren't for your difficult and socialist ways, I would still be running legal software!

Work It!

I am currently attempting (with my small ammount of knowledge in HTML) to change the look of my blog. As you can see above it isn't exactly finished yet and needs some work so be looking forward to the finished pruduct.

Also the internet here is being really stupid so if I don't post some day that is probably the reason! So bear with me in these difficult times and pray for my blog!

Can you be too polite?

The politeness here at Cedarville has grown to ridiculous proportions! I understand that I am at a Christian university and eveyone should treat each other with brotherly love but I am pretty sure it has gone too far.

I don't mind holding a door open for someone but when you are in a hurry and I don't I feel like everyone is looking at me in disgust! A guy once held a door open for me when I was about 25 yards behind him, everyone tells you to go first (even when you just told them to) and people try to make things so convenient that it becomes inconvenient! I just wish people could be normal and not fake. Am I asking people to me more rude? I suppose, but just to a degree that I don't feel guilty if I don't let every single girl cut me in the lunch line!

Did ya miss me?

I was very busy during the weekend but guess what, I'm back! Right now I'm in the recording booth at U99.5 where you can listen live! On my first break I said my friggin name wrong but other than that I did pretty good. I think I could get used to this.

Being the "information age" I have grown to HATE paperwork. But since I decided to change my major from mechanical engineer to Electronic Media Technology (Josh should be proud) I had to fill out a crap load of paperwork! They just closed down the online class registration so I had to go to every single professor to get some dumb paper signed including department heads. All of these people are "The Man" so it wasn't exactly a pleasurable experience (or easy) but I got er done!

Anyway, I had a great weekend. Thanks to all my "patnahs" who hung out with me...you know who you are! I have to go on air again soon, so I'm signing off!

This Democracy of Hypocrisy

I'm not sure why I said that...I guess cause it sounded cool. But seriously, I want to talk about Christians being so hypocritical. I would have to say this is the number one thing that turns people away from God, Christians and non-christians alike.

I would always hear in High School from people who claim they are christians about these wild parties they went to over the weekend and then how they volunteer on Sunday mornings! It's sad how much they look like an idiot but I don't think they know how bad they make christianity look as a whole. I am just as guilty as the next guy of not living how I should and there's no excuse for me either but it's the people that get into this cycle of sin and don't realize how wrong it is that worry me.

Because of us the world now sees Christianity as a joke, a game, just another way to feel okay about death. We are poor representatives of Christ, which is why I thank him every day for His grace. But how can we expect someone to turn from their sin and repent when they know us, when they see all the crap we let our lives get filled with. I repent for what a terrible example of Christ I have been and I try to submit my life to him every day and I pray that eventually the Church body as a whole will realize their faults (I'm not judging here, just pointing out the obvious) and try to do the same thing.

On a happier note, I got a radio station DJ job. You can hear me in the Springfield area on tuesdays 6-8 on 99.5 FM, The Path!
