The Night of Nights

It Begins: 8:00pm - Mt. Dew I
Been going for 3 hours already and it's off to a very rough start, nothing properly planned and quickly going downhill. Looking forward to the rest of the night/morning ...Cadburry Creme Eggs are delectable...

Crapola: 9:10pm - Mt. Dew II
Still on the first show, going OK other than all the wanna be rockstars who also think they're sound guys. Don't get me wrong, I know they know what they're talking about but so do I, SO SHUT IT! No, I'm really OK though...sometimes the smartest person is the first one to admit he has no idea what he's doing...

And on and on and on...: 12:19 - Mt. Dew III
Concert is over and I just finished another 2 set-ups. Free pizza in 1/2 hr. Can't wait, the hunger consumes me...I find small, unneccesary sound systems to be voluptuous...

Free Pizza and Screaming Children: 1:42 - Mt. Dew IV
The sheer volume of the little children is nearly unbearable, at least 350 in one gym! Who's wretched idea was this? Besides that, I have acquired my box of free pizza and am currently enjoying my fourth Mt. Dew...roman numerals have absolutely no advantages over our current numbering system and I find them only moderately useful due to the fact that they are rather attractive...

Dramatic Increase in Fluid Intake: 2:55 - Mt. Dew VII
The children...the children...they seem...could it be true!? They seem to be growing weary. Their volume has decreased 10 fold. Only 4 more hours to go and if you're counting with me I only have 5 Dews left. Strange people have infiltrated the room adjacent to mine, they have set up camp and even came up and shut my door...I have acquired Oreos and I find that they are very good, especially since I stole them...shhhh...

Going Numb & Losing All Sense of Reality: 4:14 - Mt. Dew IX
My legs are kind of numb. Not that it's a bad thing...at times it feels like I'm floating...surrounded by little tiny seahorses. They have upped the ante and given us around 600 teens in this gym, but they are keeping them a bit quieter ao that's a plus...plastic tastes pretty good, along with nylon polymer, and little children...

Virus Scan Anomaly: 5:06 - Mt. Dew XI
Okay, so my virus scan just came on and it reminded me that I had set it for a time I though I'd never be up...and I am. Trippy. I've been trying to slow my Dew usage saving one for the cleanup stage. Till then it's kinda like that period right before you take your next scheduled pain killer (like when you get your wisdom teeth removed...I know I have a bad singing voice and all but It's really bad after 11 Mt. Dews and a total of maybe 10 hours of sleep in the last three days, not that I want you to feel sorry for me, just thought you'd like to know...

It IS Finished: 7:00 - Mt. Dew XII
Officially off the clock at 6:15am and since I did start at 5:00pm that makes it a 13.25hr work day. My computer even warned me that it was an unusaully long "pay period." All the children are leaving and I'm finally here in my room. I will be at media team in the morning even though I'm pretty sure I have a lethal dose of caffene in my body by now. I think that if I do go to sleep I may end up in a coma...have you been counted...i don't know...well have you been through here yet?...no...ok......I don't know what to think or feel but I have achived a higher state of mind where I can feel all the textures that I want and play on my pizza-box laptop, it truly is...a delight...

Having sex standing up leads to dancing...

I got the following e-mail from the beloved Cedarville:

Students,

It is hard to believe that Spring Break is just about a week away! I am sure you are excited to have a break from your studies. Let me take this opportunity to remind you of some important information found in the Student Handbook.

Over all breaks, students are expected to maintain high standards of moral purity and a godly lifestyle.

1. Students in co-ed groups must have separate accommodations (separate bedrooms, campsites etc.) regardless of the number in the group. We also ask students to notify their parents of their travel and lodging plans over breaks.

2. The University reserves the right to impose discipline for the activities listed in the dismissal category even if they occur over breaks.

3. Students leaving campus for at least an overnight are asked to "sign out" as normal.

4. Students that stay on campus during Spring Break are responsible to abide by normal residence hall regulations. However, during Spring Break, All-In is extended to 1 a.m. on Sunday thru Thursday, and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Enjoy your break! Dean Gibbs

Wow, and they claim they don't treat us like children. Anyway, tomorrow night I have to miss Valerie's party sadly becasue I will be working at the Little Kid's Festival Extraviganza Thingy and I will be up till 6, maybe 7 am. During that time I will post random thoughts throughout the night...you can follow my progress through the night if you wish, or you can just see it all in the morning...thank you America...

New Stuff

I hafe been adding a lot to my music library and watching a lot of movies recently. Here's a small bit of what I have enjoyed lately.

Hot Tracks:
Modest Mouse is really good with Good News for People Who Love Bad News (also a good album title), thanks to Emily for Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlantasicm. It's really an awesome CD and I highly reccomend it, Red Hot Chili Peppers has an awesome Greatest Hits CD(2003), and I recently picked up a bunck of Coldplay (never really listened to them before) and I really enjoy that as well.

Picture Shows:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind of course was excellent and similarly Vanilla Sky (don't listen to the tomatometer on this one), Garden State was good (and a good soundtrack too), the Manchurian Candidate was good...not something I'd watch over and over again but good, Almost Famous was a good flick, Donnie Darko was really wierd and I think I'll have to watch it again...it blew my mind, Fargo is a dark comedy that I found to be a good watch, and if you like Tarintno you'll probably like Pulp Fiction as well (if you don't mind the language).

URLs:
Check out Asterik Studio and maybe buy some posters, go to Singing Fish if you want to search for videos (have not done extensive testing yet), and finally Blockbuster Online will be my source for movies through the mail (currently have Hero and Anchorman and waiting for Resident Evil: Apocalypse)

Finally, A Good Day

So today is beautiful already and a big relief for me. I finished 2 big assignmnets that are due today; one is an audio edit and the other a series of papers for a communications class. So not only do I have a wonderful day to look forward to, but also a relatively carefree one too.

I also just got second place in my classes raquetball tournament. Of course I was shooting for first, and almost got it working my way up from the losers bracket after my first loss. I played well, not my best but well. I ended up losing 9-11.

I am enjoying my guitar as well. Starting to roughen up my fingers and getting better at strumming (which is harder than I thought it would be). And finally, on Valentines Day I only got one piece of mail, a letter from my bank asking me if I was comfortable to leave my loved ones behind when I die without having life insurance. Thanks US Bank, but right now I'm alone...very alone...on Valentines Day...thanks for reminding me! It really was kinda funny...

No One's Gonna Hurt My Litte Baby

So, I just got my guitar today and I love it!!! Some of you may not have known that I was getting one, and others of you still may not...but I did. It's an Alvarez RD8BR acoustic and it came with a very nice hard case. Here's my experience with her so far.

Fresh Out of the Box
Here she is fresh out of the box.

No Dumping
After I took her out she immediately had an accident on the floor. It's okay though, I still love her.

First Strum
This is my very first strum on her. I have to tell ya, even when she isn't tuned she still sounds pretty nice. But thanks to Derek, Emily, Bobby, Phil, and Sam who later tuned it for me (why did it take so many people? good question).

Feel Like It's My First Time
Finally, my first night with her. I don't know if Cedarville approves but I just can't keep my hands off her. I don't have a name yet but I will...soon.

Rate My Body

Isn't that one of those wierd icons that's keeps appearing on the eMachine desktop? Oh well, we have this thing here at Cedarville (I guess it's also pretty popular elsewhere also) and it gives you all your strengths and weaknesses...here's what I got

Strengths:
^Easy to work with. ^Good team player. ^Agreeable and gets along well with others. ^Pioneering; enjoys taking a calculated risk. ^Calm and confident in the face of adversity. *Strong verbal skills, persuasive, and motivating; can inspire an audience. ^Operates from a generalist perspective. ^Diplomatic in relating to others. ^Able to make tough decisions and hold people accountable. ^Outgoing, good mixer; energized by meeting new people. ^Flexible; willing to adjust for the situation. ^Energetic, positive, and enthusiastic; likes involvement in many activities.

Weaknesses:
*Hesitant in making decisions. *Can be stressed by conflict and does not like confrontation. ^May take unnecessary risks. ^May dominate conversations; not always sensitive to the needs of listeners. ^May overlook important facts; jump to conclusions too quickly. *May withhold true opinions. *Can be insenitive to the needs of others. ^May have a problem with time management and keeping conversations focused. ^Can lack commitment toward goals. ^Can be too optimistic about outcomes and people.

( ^ means I agree with this trait and * means I disagree)

Yeah, I thought the positive part sounded a little like a personal ad in the newspaper but it was all pretty interesting. It was generally close I guess...kinda vauge though...like a fortune cookie.

The Random Things of Life

Being a college student living the dorm life you spend a lot of time on the internet. I have seen many internets so here are a few of the things I have notced in my travels...

Some people make techno music on the gameboy with awsome "mo-def" technology...this is very stange, but i thought it would be good for everyone to know that this is how they "dispose" of the stuff!...okay, i have seen some pretty good sports highlight reels but THIS ONE tops them ALL...watch out guys, HERE BE DRAGONS...I found some really sweet animated gif's, I've been looking evertwhere for this precious commodity only found on personal webpages and cheesy church websites...the govenment has reverted to interesting new weapons against the enemy, all I can can say is that if I knew my opponent was using this stuff I'd give up!...some people really don't like fast food...and finally, video games are actually useful in a way I could have never imagined...

this is what I do with my time...enjoy
