Severe Weather Alert

So as I told you, I have been working outside for the last week or so. And as you may also know, it has been incredibly hot the last two days...hot enough to have a weather warning for it. Yesterday it got up to about 90°F with a RealFeel® of 99°F. Today we were working in 95°F heat with a RealFeel® of up to 107°F, and boy, let me tell you, when you're moving dirt and planting grass you really feel it.

I did realize a great perk to my job though. Other than the sweet hookups I get with all the staff I also get a great tan. I mean, think about it. Working full time I get a free 8 hour tan every day. With the Coconut Grove Tanning Salon price here in Springfield of $18.65 for 110 min, if you calculate it out, that would cost me $81.38 a day! That's $406.90 a week. And that's before tax, so I am saving a butt load of money. I guess I could always just get some spray-on Bahama Bronze for only $9.95!

Mud Dogs

Most of you may not know that I recently (yesterday) got a job for the rest of the summer. I've been pretty busy lately working at Cedarville with the grounds crew. We're called mud dogs because of the obvious daily tasks of digging, moving dirt, and cutting grass.

It's not too bad working there. At least I'm getting a nice tan and all. It's strange how much trust they give you almost as soon as you start working there as I have driven a huge truck twice already hauling dirt and rocks. It's exhasuting, but I'm poor.

Also, if you haven't been watching the news lately there has been another terrorist attack ing London. This one was not as successful (for the terrorists) as the one two weeks ago was with only one person sustaining injury. Here's the story and here's some pictures.

PopSci

That's the trendy way to say Popular Science which I love dearly. Since coming back from a land where the worship leaders are English and the soundmen are DCTalk drummers I have had the amazing opportunity to receive my last three issues of the magazine all at once. It is an overwhelming and exhilarating feeling to have this much information to cram in all at once! Yes...I am a nerd!

Anyway, it is very good to be back. It's awesome to see all my friends again and need to spend the next 4 weeks of my life catching up with the rest of them. I have also taken on the task of finding a summer job...for the remaining 4 weeks of summer. I think I may have some work at Cedarville but we will have to wait and see on that.

I kinda wish I could have just relaxed this summer but I suppose I can always do that next summer. Yeah right....like that will happen!

Mountain Jew

Well...that's how Anthony (the aussie I wrote of back in Guate) swore it was pronounced, and I have been drinking plenty of it since my return to the states.

So I'm sitting here at "Impact 2" feeling a little worn down. At this point I think being sick is nothing more than my body begging me to slow down or stop after 2 1/2 months of not doing so. I am tired and worn out. I just have to keep telling myself that I only have 3 more days left before I can finally relax. Until then my one bed room here at Michindoh will have to suffice.

Delayed and Cancelled

I was stuck overnight in Atlanta. It's amazing what 3 hours of rain can do to an airport schedule. When we landed everything seemed ok...just a couple hour delay on my flight. I decided to spend my time waiting by watching The Negotiator (whitch is not a bad flick) and was just trying to enjoy my flight amidst all the hustle and bustle of delays.

After watching and checking my flight fairly frequently for an hour or so and watching the time change farther and farther back 5 minutes at a time my flight suddenly vanished. No sign whatsoever on the screens or at my gate. After almost peeing my pants in fear (as this has never happened to me before) I finally admitted that my flight was gone and it was now time to begin searching for a new chariot home.

I ended up camping at gate B15 all night knowing full well that my newly scheduled flight at gate B23 for 11:50am to Columbus just would not suffice (Luke and Aaron were waiting). The gate B15 flight I was hoping for was for 8:00am. I ended up getting on this earlier flight and getting into Columbus at 9:30.

As I type Aaron, Luke and I are cruising toward Michindoh courtesy of Aaron's unlimited cell phone internet access (via Verizon) hooked to my lappy. I love technology.
